Holiday Extravaganza returns to Downtown Pontiac for the 41st year

The Greater Pontiac Host Committee today announced Holiday Extravaganza will return to Downtown Pontiac for a 41st year. The presenting sponsors for the collaborative event between Auburn Hills, Pontiac, Waterford and White Lake are Genisys Credit Union, Lee Industrial, and Michigan Works. The event brings free activities and a parade to community families on the first Saturday of December each year, taking place this year on Saturday, December 3.

“Our holiday parade is one of the most interactive in Michigan, drawing thousands of spectators from our communities.” Said Linda Zabik, Executive Director.

Also back this year is North Pole elf BinG and his posse of friends, including dog Skittles, who bring magic to the community throughout the holiday season. BinG shares fun facts in blog format, sponsored by McLaren Oakland.

All funding for the parade comes from generous donors at local organizations and from the annual Elf Magic event. Elf Magic, on October 27 is a celebration including food, fun and fellowship where 100% of the profit goes directly to support The Holiday Extravaganza. Elf Magic ticket sales, sponsorships and raffles have helped make it possible for all the activities at the Holiday Extravaganza Parade and WinterFUN Festival to be completely free to all attendees.

In addition, there is a philanthropic arm to Holiday Extravaganza, which offers four $1,000 scholarships to students making a difference in their community. Applications must be submitted by November 1 by noon to be considered.
