Scholarship Information 2020

Money doesn’t grow on trees, how are you planning to pay for college?

Consider applying for the Fran Anderson Making A Difference scholarship where one student from each city of Auburn Hills, Pontiac, Waterford and White Lake will walk away with $1,000 to help them pay with costs associated with higher education.

Fran Anderson made a difference as a teacher in the Pontiac School District and an extraordinary volunteer and advocate for numerous civic and community organizations, including Holiday Extravaganza, on whose Board of Directors she served with distinction.

Embodying the great woman the scholarship was named after, students are expected to write a 500 word essay describing how they make a difference in their local community. Winners will be selected by officials from their respective town.

Please note: Winners from each community are expected to be present at the award ceremony and serve as Junior Grand Marshalls in the parade on Saturday, December 5. However, this scholarship opportunity will be honored whether or not it is safe to hold these events.

High school students interested in applying for this scholarship should have their applications in by not later than September 28th at 5 p.m..

Additional information can be found on our scholarship page at holidayextravaganza.org, and any questions should be directed at Linda Zabik at he@holidayextravaganza.org.
