Our Mission
The Holiday Extravaganza Parade’s mission is to bring together Oakland County’s cities and townships to share together in celebration of the holiday season in the heart of Oakland County.
Our History
The Greater Pontiac Host Committee has coordinated and provided leadership to a Christmas parade in Pontiac since 1981 which, at that time, included one fire truck from the City of Pontiac and one high school marching band.
Today, The Greater Pontiac Host Committee formed a 501c3 organization and now consists of an Advisory Board, Community Partner Committee and the Strategic Leadership Committee, which coordinates all the fundraising and organizational needs for all aspects of the Holiday Extravaganza Parade, as well as the Children WinterArt Festival and Gallery of Ice.
Throughout the years we have been able to organize, coordinate and implement the following Holiday Extravaganza events:
- Children WinterArt Festival is held prior to the parade, which includes craft projects, petting farm, Santa’s reindeer, face painters, balloon artists and much more.
- The Gallery of Ice was created in 2009, highlight several ice sculptures and live demonstrations.
- The Holiday Extravaganza Parade provides professional floats, balloons, horse drawn wagon and carriages, marching bands, local school and community groups.
The greatest success of Holiday Extravaganza Parade is it bring people together to celebrate the holiday season!
